First Tour de Consortium in Utrecht

The first Tour de Consortium in UtrechtDuring CID-meetings, researchers share their ideas and latest results through presentations and discussions. But what better way to visualize our work, than to show each other how it’s done where it’s actually happening? To this end we went on our first Tour de Consortium in Utrecht on June 7th, 2016.

During this tour CID-researchers from the Helmholtz Institute, Brain Center Rudolf Magnus and the Department of Methodology and Statistics gave 15 to 20 enthusiastic junior and senior researchers a closer look into their experimental approaches through tours and demonstrations.

After lunch junior researchers from WP4 gave blitz presentations. Subsequently, participants were divided into two groups and were guided through the rodent and avian labs. This gave a good impression of what this type of research entails, and of all the impressive work that is being done.

All participants were positive about the tours, and there was plenty of time to interact and ask questions in an informal setting. Finally, junior researchers from the Department of Methodology and Statistics introduced their field of computer simulations and statistics. We concluded our successful first Tour de Consortium with drinks.

We will continue the tours in 2017: two of them will be planned in Leiden and Groningen. Stay tuned!
